Stylist network event

I was invited to a stylist network event in Shoreditch recently. Admittedly, I was a bit apprehensive about attending the event, as I have never been to any similar kind of events before. I didn't know what to expect and what it would be like at all. However, I find myself at a point in my life where I am encouraging myself to be bolder and try new things. In the words of Nate  Berkus “You will enrich your life immeasurably if you approach it with a sense of wonder and discovery, and always challenge yourself to try new things”. So I went, and how glad I am that I did.

This event opened up a whole new world for me and at the perfect time to be honest as I am starting to have an interest and a passion for beauty, fashion and photography. I met such kind and inspiring people who are really passionate and working towards their goals in the fashion industry. There were many bloggers, stylists, photographers and even magazine companies. It was an extraordinary atmosphere to be in, where people were very supportive and helpful. I will definitely be attending more events like this!

Below are a few pictures I took to show you what the studio looked like (Very beautiful) and a few of the people that attended the event.

With love.. From Paris.

I know summer is the time most people choose to travel but on a recent surprise trip to beautiful Paris my heart warmed to the magic of a vacation taken in spring bloom. Paris is a famously picturesque city with a lot of culture, history, architecture and food, oh glorious food, to take in. Travelling around Paris is quite simple by metro, which is very much like the London underground. However, I recommend a walk around the city’s streets, which do not have the hustle and bustle of Central London. This is the best way to tune in to the city’s heartbeat and let your mind wander through the arrondissements. It’s definitely the perfect destination for those who LOVE shopping and site seeing. Well suited for a short city break, you can probably see most of the tourist sights of Paris in two days. All this beauty does come at a cost though. Paris is quite expensive especially if you like the finer things in life. The locals are very friendly and strangers always seem to talk to you, even though I have to admit I know very little French.

Overall the trip was an amazing and unforgettable experience. The highlights for me were the ascent up the Eiffel Tower, Cathédrale Notre Dame de Paris, dining at some of the finest restaurants in Paris and seeing the amazing paintings at the Musee du Louvre.  It all left me with a smile that even dear old Mona Lisa would have been jealous of.

Below are a few of many captured moments at my trip.

God my rock!

'Sometimes God lets you hit rock bottom so that you realise that he is the rock at the bottom'

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. (‭Psalms‬ ‭18‬:‭2‬ KJV)

I love you, GOD — you make me strong. GOD is bedrock under my feet, the castle in which I live, my rescuing knight. My God—the high crag where I run for dear life, hiding behind the boulders, safe in the granite hideout. (‭Psalm‬ ‭18‬:‭1-2‬ MSG)

Reading this verse I just was thinking about the actual meaning of it, 'the Lord is my ROCK' from the Stone Age rocks have been used for tools. The minerals and metals found in rocks have been essential to human civilisation. So if God is being referred as a rock to us for me it means that everything about God is essential to our lives, that he is our anchor, he is the rock anchoring us when we tribulations come at us to attack. If we only just hold on to him we will conquer all that is to come. He is a steadfast and unchanging God, the same today yesterday and days to come.

'My Fortress', the word/place Fortress is defined as a place or source of refuge and support. Our God is our fortress he is the one we can go to when we are in trouble, we can go to him at anytime where we will find all we need in his presence, there's nothing that the world can give that will replace the peace/support/protection that Lord gives to us his children. He is the one that knows you, every hair on your head! Can you imagine that? He is the one that has joy for you!

The Lord is also our deliverer! Our strength! His strength is made perfect in our weaknesses! We don't have to struggle by ourselves trying to make things happen when our Heavenly Father has offered and given us his help for free asking nothing in return! There's nothing we could ever give to pay God for all he has done for us. The Lord is also our buckler our shield he protects us his children, if us humans as evil as we are can protect our children what about the father who created and made us how much more will he do for us? If he has his eye on a sparrow what about you? His perfect creation!

So I pray that you may have and encounter with God and real experience of the real God! Not of people's opinions. I pray that the Holy Spirit may guide you and speak to your heart so you may have a personal experience with God so may learn more about him and share him with others! I pray that you may make God the rock of your life!

In jesus name. Amen

Seeking the lost!

( I really really love this image to me it shows me that God continually reaches out for us to help us from all the things in life that are drowning us. We don't have to go through this life on our own all we have to do is reach out to God and he will be there instantly. His hand is not too short to save and his ear is not to deaf to hear. (Isaiah 59:1)

If you're lost, God will find you.

In Jesus, Gods love and mercy extends to those who hate him. (Romans 5:10) God looked down upon this shrivelled and sin-sick world and understood that there were millions of us who hated him only because we did not know him. Many of us were confused by the lies of our fathers. (Jeremiah 16:19)

God was in Jesus, reconciling the world unto himself. God sent Jesus so that we could know God and be reconciled to him. Jesus was and is the shining forth of everything that God is - because Jesus is God. That is how we can get to know God. If you ask what grace is, it is God sending forth his only Son to die for your pardon so that you can come back to God, knowing that you are forgiven.

In the story of the Prodigal Son, the Bible pictures God as a love-sick Father who constantly scanning  the horizon for the return of his children. When he sees one of us approaching, even if it is from a very great distance, He runs to embrace us and restore to us everything that we have squandered.

What of those who have never heard the gospel? Well, actually, according to the Bible, there is no such person. See John 1:9, Romans 1:18-20, Psalm 19:1-6, Psalm 14 and Romans 3:10-18. My understanding of these text is that people know enough about God to know that they need him and that they need to seek him, but they do not seek him or want him. So God came to seek them.

Again, what of those who personally and utterly hate God? God is still seeking them. He will go to any length to save them. He has no pleasure in their self destruction, and he takes no delight in punishing them. His grace is limited only by their deaths, for it is appointed unto men once to die and after that comes judgement. That is why God does not want anyone to die, but live and learn of him. And yet, inevitably, all must die. Oh God, Help us to live in your grace, and to love others in Jesus name Amen!
